Lake Powell Hotels & Lodging

Lake Powell lodging splits into two distinct strategies: stay on the water (or right beside it) at Wahweap or Antelope Point, or base yourself in Page, AZ and drive 4 to 5 miles to the marina and attractions. Page hotels are significantly cheaper and position you equally well for Antelope Canyon tours and Horseshoe Bend. On-water lodging makes sense if marina access, water views, or the resort experience is itself part of the trip.

All properties below are bookable via Expedia. We've noted which to book via the hotel directly vs. third-party depending on cancellation flexibility and rate parity. July weekends can sell out months ahead — plan accordingly.

1. Lake Powell Resort (Wahweap Lodge)

Lake Powell Resort — also operated under the Wahweap Lodge name — sits directly adjacent to Wahweap Marina on the Arizona side of the lake, 5 miles north of Page on Highway 89. It is the primary full-service hotel in the Lake Powell NPS area and the most convenient option for houseboat-launchers, guided tour departures, and lake-focused travelers who want water proximity without sleeping on a boat. The resort has two room tiers: standard rooms and lake-view rooms, which look directly over Wahweap Bay and the Vermilion Cliffs. Lake-view rooms are worth the upgrade at sunset — the sandstone color shift over the reservoir is one of the more dramatic hotel views in the Southwest.

On-site amenities include a full-service restaurant, outdoor pool, and marina activities booking desk. All Wahweap Marina tours — Rainbow Bridge boat trips, kayak and paddleboard rentals, houseboat checkout — operate steps from the resort entrance. Lake Powell's reservoir elevation has dropped well below full pool in recent years, and launch-ramp access at every marina — including Wahweap — now depends on the current water level. Before booking, check the NPS Glen Canyon current lake-level and ramp-status page for which ramps are open and to which vessel types; do not assume any marina's ramp is open by default.

2. Antelope Point Marina

Antelope Point Marina sits on Navajo Nation land east of Page, reached via AZ-98 and BIA/Navajo Route N22B (also signed as Indian Route 222) — figure roughly 6 to 8 miles of driving from town depending on your start point. It is operated by Antelope Point Holdings, LLC as an NPS concessioner under a lease from the Navajo Nation, not by the Navajo Nation government directly. The marina's lodging product is houseboat rentals (covered on our houseboat rentals page) plus a land-based RV park — as of this writing its own site does not list standalone floating-cabin or hotel-style rooms, so do not book expecting one without confirming directly with the marina first.

Important: Antelope Point sits on Navajo Nation land — the same jurisdictional distinction that applies to Antelope Canyon — and a Navajo Nation entrance fee applies at the marina gate separately from any NPS Glen Canyon fee. Marina services, hours, and reservation processes are set by Antelope Point Holdings, not the NPS. Water elevation note: as of the most recent NPS conditions report, Antelope Point's public launch ramp was restricted to paddlecraft only; confirm current motorized-launch status at the NPS lake-level page before finalizing a houseboat booking.

3. Page, AZ — Gateway Hotel Base

Page, AZ (population ~7,500) exists primarily to serve Lake Powell visitors and is the nearest town to both Antelope Canyon and Horseshoe Bend. The city sits on a mesa above the Colorado River and is about 4 miles from Wahweap Marina. Most branded hotels are clustered along US-89 — including Hampton Inn by Hilton, Best Western Lake Powell, Holiday Inn Express, and Courtyard by Marriott. Rates run $90 to $200 per night depending on season and demand. July is the most expensive month by far.

For visitors doing Antelope Canyon tours, note that many tour operators (Ken's Tours, Navajo Tours AZ) have staging areas right in Page or just off US-89 — convenient from any Page hotel. The Horseshoe Bend trailhead parking lot is also on the south side of Page, about 1 mile from the US-89/AZ-98 junction. Dining options in Page are limited but functional: Slackers Burger & Brew, Blue Buddha Sushi, and the Ranch House Grille are local standbys. 4. Bullfrog Resort & Marina (Utah Side)

Bullfrog Resort & Marina sits on the Utah side of Lake Powell, accessible via UT-276 and about 96 miles from Page by road. Land-based services — the Defiance House Lodge, RV park, and campground — stay open, but low reservoir levels have repeatedly forced boating operations to shift: for the 2026 season, NPS and Aramark relocated Bullfrog's marina boat rentals and fuel dock to deeper water near Halls Crossing, about 3 miles across the lake. Do not assume Bullfrog is a self-contained boat-launch point without checking current conditions first. The Halls Crossing–Bullfrog ferry is weather- and water-level-dependent and has not run in low-water years, including 2026 — check the UDOT ferry status page before planning a crossing; when it is not running, the road alternative between Bullfrog and Halls Crossing is roughly 150 miles via UT-95.

Important water-level note: Bullfrog's launch ramps are more elevation-sensitive than Wahweap's, and at points in recent low-water years Bullfrog's main ramp has been closed to motorized vessels entirely (paddlecraft-only or launch-at-your-own-risk conditions). Do not treat any Bullfrog ramp as reliably open — check the NPS Glen Canyon current lake-level and ramp-status page before committing to Bullfrog for a houseboat trip. Visitors connecting from the Grand Canyon or traveling a southern route to Utah national parks are better positioned by Wahweap or Page. Bullfrog is the right choice if you're routing from Bryce Canyon or Capitol Reef and want to spend time in the mid-lake Utah basin without backtracking to Page — just confirm the ramp is usable for your vessel first.

The Real Lake Powell Lodging — Houseboat Rental

Multi-day houseboat rentals from Wahweap, Bullfrog, or Halls Crossing marinas are the defining Lake Powell experience — 186 miles of navigable reservoir, private cove camping, and slot-canyon access only reachable by water. Boats sleep 6 to 22 people and rent from $1,500 to $6,000+ per week depending on size and season. No prior boating experience required — all marinas provide checkout orientation. Book 3 to 6 months ahead for peak summer dates.
