Amara is the most practical romantic option in Sedona — central location at the Y intersection, excellent pool complex on Oak Creek, on-site spa, and rates that run significantly below L'Auberge and Enchantment ($250–$450/night). It is the right choice if budget matters or if you want to be central to everything (Tlaquepaque is a 5-minute walk, Uptown restaurants are a 10-minute walk). The creek-facing rooms are the best option. For a honeymoon where the room is a home base rather than the primary experience, Amara delivers more per dollar than either of the luxury options.

Mariposa Latin-Inspired Grill

Mariposa on Airport Road has cliff-face terrace seating with direct views of the red rock formations at golden hour — in April 2026 we had a table at 7pm and watched Cathedral Rock go from amber to deep red while eating. The Latin-inspired menu is genuinely excellent (the wood-fired dishes are the strength), the wine list is well-considered, and the service knows what kind of occasion most guests are celebrating. Request the terrace when booking — interior tables are good, terrace tables are spectacular. Book 2–3 weeks in advance for weekend evenings. Located at 700 W AZ-89A.

Dahl and Di Luca Ristorante Italiano

Dahl and Di Luca is the most intimate dining room in Sedona — a grotto-style Italian restaurant on AZ-89A with low lighting, close tables, and a menu anchored in house-made pasta and wood-fired proteins. The atmosphere is the reason to go: it feels more like a restaurant in a Tuscan hill town than a resort town in Arizona. The wine list is strong on Italian bottles. For a honeymoon, this is the dinner you book when you want atmosphere over views. Located at 2321 W AZ-89A. Reservations essential; book through OpenTable.

Hot Air Balloon at Sunrise

A hot air balloon flight over Sedona at dawn is the most distinctive honeymoon experience in town — the formations at first light from 1,000 feet above are a genuinely different experience from any ground-level view. Flights depart at sunrise from the Sedona Airport area and last approximately 1 hour. Northern Light Balloon Expeditions and Red Rock Balloon Adventures are the two established Sedona operators; both have strong safety records. A private sunrise hike to the Cathedral Rock saddle is free and one of the most memorable experiences a couple can have in Sedona.
